INDIVIDUAL MUSIC THERAPY SESSIONS

MY MUSIC

My Music is our program of individual sessions for adults and children. These are tailored sessions where you work one on one with a music therapist. No musical skill or knowledge is needed to benefit. It’s the music therapist’s job to help you tap in to “your” music. It’s about finding the music in you! No two people are the same, so every session is different and is tailored to you. It could be that we don’t sing but use drums or that we decide to try a variety of instruments. Whatever we do, it’ll be about you and the music. So don’t worry, you don’t need to have any previous experience as a musician. Just come along as you.

The sessions are focused on your needs and your goals. Music and activities are used according to your interests and tastes. Whether you need to improve your physical co-ordination, your speech, your interaction with others or practice relaxation, these sessions are designed for you.

If you are working with other health professionals we are happy to liaise with them to provide an integrated approach. If you have an NDIS plan, we will take into account your broader goals.

Individual sessions for music therapy can be funded through your NDIS plan and as a registered provider we would be happy to talk with your planner about your needs. For more information about NDIS, click here.
