External Supervision for Art Therapists

Katishe Grudnoff, our practice manager, is an ANZACATA-approved supervisor with eight years of experience providing supervision to arts therapists. As well as providing inhouse supervision for the team at Newcastle Music and Art Therapy, Katishe conducts external supervision sessions both online and in-person at our Warners Bay practice. She offers both individual and group supervision.

Katishe describes her style as authentic, warm and down-to-earth. She is passionate about trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

When people start supervision with Katishe, we recommend booking three sessions and then reviewing to see if the supervision is meeting your needs, if you seem to be connecting well, and if our service is a good fit for you.

Katishe also asks supervisees to make an artwork before supervision reflecting on what you would like to bring to supervision (even if it is just a 10 minute make). This is for multiple reasons – it provides a space for you to slow down, reflect on what has happened for you recently, notice what is important and also to encourage connection to art making in practice. This means you are more prepared for your supervision sessions, and can make the most of your time.

Supervisees must be either practicing Art Therapists registered with ANZACATA, or current Masters of Art Therapy students at Western Sydney University or La Trobe University.
